Why we’ve created this directory
We know that 8 out of 10 women stop breastfeeding before they want to. Parents often struggle to find someone to turn to who can offer them sensitive, consistent and reliable breastfeeding support in the early weeks after birth.
The Breastfeeding Support Directory has been designed to create a single resource of support across the UK.

About The Directory
Becoming a new parent can feel overwhelming. We are often bombarded with advice and information at a time when we’re feeling vulnerable because of sleep deprivation, postnatal recovery and the burden of responsibility.
When it comes to feeding your baby, it can be difficult to find the right support. The first point of contact for breastfeeding and infant feeding support is often a midwife, health visitor or GP. However you might want to talk to someone with more specialist knowledge and experience.
This Breastfeeding Support Directory aims to provide one place for UK parents to find qualified breastfeeding and infant feeding support, whether that’s provided by a midwife, health visitor, breastfeeding counsellor, or lactation consultant. The directory includes online and face-to-face support, as well as support that is free at point of access or private paid for support.
How to Get Listed
If you want to be included in the Breastfeeding Support Directory, please give us your name and email address details and we’ll be in touch.
There is no charge to be included in the directory if you offer support that is free at point of access. If you charge for support, we ask you to pay an annual registration fee to help cover the ongoing costs of the directory.
